Osmosis in Fibreglass Pools
Osmosis blisters occur in the laminate when there is a breakdown of the resin, thus a significant amount of strength is lost from the laminate. Any laminate removed by grinding must be replaced. This is done by patching with Fibreglass or putty which consists of Vinyl Ester resins and fillers.
A new laminate consisting of 450cm (chopped strand mat) is recommended and applied over the entire pool surface which will give a uniform thickness.
Concrete Pools Surface Preparation
